Requirements for Sarawak-MM2H

Regulation Details
Eligibility Open to citizens of countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia (except Israel and North Korea). Applicant must declare their country of origin and citizenship(s).
Minimum Stay Minimum 30 cumulative days per year in Sarawak for the main applicant only.
Fixed Deposit (FD) RM500,000 for the main applicant in any local bank in Sarawak. 50% withdrawal allowed after 1 year for residential house, car purchase, medical, and education in Sarawak.
Offshore Income RM10,000 (Individual) per month, RM15,000 (Dependent) per month
Certified copy of Pension Letter and latest 3 months government-approved pension funds
OR
Certified copy of Employment Confirmation and latest 3 months pay slip and bank statement as proof of monthly offshore income funds.
OR
RM100,000 (Individual), RM200,000 (Dependent)
Certified copy of bank statements as proof of savings fund for the last 3 months financial statement.
Age Eligibility Must be 30 years old and above.
Pass Duration 10 years (5+5) and renewable upon expiry. After 10 years, applicants must apply as a new application.
Liquid Asset Property purchase is optional for all applicants. The approved participant is allowed to purchase a residential house in Sarawak with a value of at least RM600,000 (Kuching Division) and RM500,000 (other Divisions) subject to Land Code.
Legal Amendment (Amendment)(No.2) Order 1998 & Land (Market Value of Property for Foreign Acquisition) Direction 1998.
(The participant can sell their residential house after 5 years)
Fee One-off RM5,000 processing fee to MTCP
(Note: The processing fee is for first 5 years pass)
Employment/Investment Involvement All S-MM2H participants are not eligible to work.
• S-MM2H participants are not eligible to work full-time.
• S-MM2H participants are only eligible to work part-time in professional jobs in sectors approved by the ILMU thru MTCP.
• Total working hours must not exceed 20 working hours per week.
• S-MM2H participants are allowed to be “Minority partner” in Joint-venture (JV) business with local partners in sectors approved by ILMU.
• S-MM2H participants must own a minimum 49% of the total paid-up capital of RM250,000 (minimum).
• All applications to work under the S-MM2H programme must be made to the State Authority.
Pass Renewal and Change of Principal upon Death Security screening by PDRM.
Letter of Good Conduct Principal applicant and all dependent(s).
Responsible Agencies Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP).
Allowed to Bring Maid Yes, subject to compliance with the Immigration Department’s current requirements for foreign maids.
Allowed Dependent Categories Spouse, parents, parents-in-law, children under 21.
Education and Healthcare Benefits Must have medical insurance for the duration of the S-MM2H pass.
Tax Exemption on Funds Brought In Yes.
Health Examination Required.
Transfer of MM2H Pass Upon Principal’s Death Not allowed.
Permanent Residence Status Not available.
